Ithaca College

The Department of Sport Management and Media, in conjunction with the Center for LGBT Education, Outreach, and Services, and the Department of Athletics will be hosting a conference on sport, sexuality, and culture March 18-20, 2009.

Author, activist, entrepreneur, and former NBA star John Amaechi -- who wrote about his life as a gay athlete in his autobiography Man in the Middle -- will be the keynote speaker.

The conference program will include invited speakers from around the world as well as presentations from scholars, sport industry leaders, activists, public policy makers, and students (graduate and undergraduate, athlete and non-athlete).

The deadline for abstract submissions from established scholars and graduate students is September 15; the deadline for undergraduate student submissions is December 15.
