Auditions for IC's Vocal Jazz Ensemble will be held August 27, 28, and 29.
Sign-up sheets for VJE auditions are located at Studio 3310 in the Whalen Center for Music.
All interested students are encouraged to audition regardless of major. VJE counts as a half-credit course for music majors and as one liberal arts credit for non-music majors. The ensemble may also be audited for 0 credits.
Students auditioning for VJE *or* who are interested in other jazz-singing experiences at IC and in the Ithaca community should attend an informational meeting on Wednesday, August 27, at 6:00 p.m. in the Beeler rehearsal room in the Whalen Center. You do not have to be planning to audition for the group in order to attend the meeting -- all you need is an interest in jazz singing.
Vocal Jazz Ensemble meets Monday and Wednesday from 6:00 to 7:50 p.m. Performances for the year include Choral Collage, Family Weekend, Winter Concert, MLK Day Concert, Harlem Renaissance reception at DeWitt Middle School, Spring Concert, and a gathering with other college vocal jazz groups from around the region.
