The Offices of Residential Life and Judicial Affairs would like to announce important changes to the residency/off-campus policy affecting the senior intention process.

These changes are being made to more accurately project housing numbers and the correct number of students to approve for off-campus housing. Please read the entire policy statement at:

https://www.ithaca.edu/reslife/rl_guide/residencypolicy.htm.

As you may be aware, seniors as defined in the residency policy are considered housing-exempt and need to submit a senior intention form to communicate their intent to live on campus. If a student's senior intention form is not received by the Office of Residential Life by the advertised due date in January, that student is assumed to be living off campus.

Until this year, a senior could decide to go off campus at any point during the semester. Our revised policy indicates that once a senior who submits a senior intention form secures fall housing, they are committed to on-campus housing for their senior year. A senior who has selected housing and decides they want to move off campus, will need to apply for off-campus status through the regular off-campus application process. All applications, including those from seniors, will be prioritized by date and time order. There are no exceptions to this policy.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact housing@ithaca.edu.
