Reverend Kenneth Clarke, director of Cornell United Religious Work, will talk about "The 'Later' King: Martin Luther King Jr.'s Evolution from Reformer to Revolutionary, 1965-1968," on Wednesday, September 17, 7:00 p.m. in Klingenstein Lounge.

Reverend Clarke's talk is the first in a yearlong discussion series, "Chaos or Community? MLK and the Politics of Resistance," offered by the Center for the Study of Culture, Race, and Ethnicity (in the Division of Interdisciplinary and International Studies).

This year marks the 40th anniversary of Dr. King's assassination, and the discussion series aims to enable critical engagements with not only his own work, but also with many of the themes he wrote about, such as militarism, capitalism, liberal racism, civil disobedience, and theologies of liberation.

President Tom Rochon will inaugurate the evening. Light refreshments will be served.
