Enjoy spending time with elderly people? Looking for ways to get involved with the Ithaca community? Want to meet some great people? Join AGES!

AGES (the Aging and Gerontological Education Society) will hold its first meeting of the semester on Tuesday, September 23, during the lunch hour in the Gerontology Resource Room (fourth floor of CHS). Pizza will be provided!

Members of AGES are dedicated students with an interest in serving the older population. Events that AGES plans and sponsors include, but are not limited to:

  • Annual Harvest Moon Dance -- an intergenerational dance on campus
  • Glamour Gals -- giving manicures to residents at Longview a few times a month
  • Fall Clean Up -- at local assisted-living facilities
  • Other activities such as playing games, baking, and volunteering with local elders

AGES is open to all majors and minors. The only requirement is that you care for elderly people!

Contact Maggie Burgess, president of AGES, at mburges1@ithaca.edu with any questions.

Hope to see you Tuesday!
