GLBT History Month Continues

Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender (GLBT) History Month is celebrated in October. Throughout the month, the LGBT Center website will feature videos highlighting different historical figures.

Log on to the LGBT Center website's GLBT History Month Featured Videos section to find a new video each day of October.

Here are some figures who will be highlighted in the coming days:

  • October 8: Bertrand Delano, first openly gay mayor of Paris
  • October 9: Margaret Mead, anthropologist and author
  • October 10: Mark Bingham, September 11 hero
  • October 11: Cleve Jones, founder of the NAMES Project AIDS Memorial Quilt
  • October 12: Jann Wenner, publisher
  • October 13: Harvey Fierstein, actor, playwright, and screenwriter
  • October 14: Margarethe Cammermeyer, military officer and activist
