The Sustainability Café on Monday, October 13, at 4:00 p.m. in room 115 in the Center for Natural Sciences will feature Ithaca College alumnus Brian Ohl '03, director of programs for INFORM. Ohl will speak about his experience promoting environmental issues in both government and nonprofit sectors.

INFORM is a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating the public about the effects of human activity on the environment and public health. INFORM's mission is "to empower citizens, businesses, and government to adopt practices and policies that will sustain our planet for future generations."

Ohl's interests and areas of expertise include extended producer responsibility, alternative energy, sustainable agriculture, environmental equity, the valuation of ecological services, and nutrition. Ohl spent two-and-a-half years in the Office of the Mayor in New York City, where he focused on environmental policy issues.

This Sustainability Café is being held in conjunction with the Environmental Seminar.

"Teachable edibles" -- seasonal, organic, and/or local foods -- for the fall 2008 Sustainability Café series are supported by Ithaca College Dining Services. Please bring your reusable mug and fill up at the drinking fountain or provide your beverage of choice.

All Sustainability Café events are free and open to the public.
