Sophomores and juniors interested in a career in mathematics, the natural sciences, or engineering may be eligible to apply for this scholarship that is awarded by the Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Foundation. The award covers eligible expenses for undergraduate tuition, fees, books, and room and board, up to a maximum of $7,500 per year.

Ithaca College may nominate up to four students to the Scholarship program. Eligible students who wish to be considered for nomination are invited to submit a preliminary application to the Goldwater Scholarship Nomination Committee. The deadline for preliminary applications is Friday, November 14. Information on eligibility and the application process is available at https://www.ithaca.edu/hs/resources/fundingopps/goldwater/. Students who are nominated by Ithaca College must then submit a formal application to the Goldwater Foundation by January 30, 2009.
