Asma Barlas, director of the Center for the Study of Culture, Race, and Ethnicity (CSCRE), presented a paper on "globalizing equality" at the third International Congress on Islamic Feminism in Barcelona, Spain, on October 25.

Her paper delivered at the first congress was translated into Spanish and published as a book chapter in "La emergencia del feminismo islamica."

Additionally, Barlas's Spinoza Lectures were published as a monograph, <i>Re-Understanding Islam: A Double Critique</i>, by the University of Amsterdam in October.
