It's an instant success! The Handwerker Gallery's current exhibition, "Darker Shades of Red: Official Soviet Propaganda from the Cold War," has gotten some great feedback. Schedule a tour soon!
We want to encourage the campus community to take advantage of this exciting exhibit, which draws on a wide variety of native Russian posters, banners, children's books, sculpture, and pins to offer a unique snapshot of life in Soviet Russia.
We predict the gallery will be busy for the duration of this exhibit so, to avoid scheduling conflicts, please e-mail Genevieve Kocienda, Handwerker Gallery outreach coordinator, at gkocienda@ithaca.edu. Class tours can be accommodated outside of regular gallery hours with advance notice.
All Handwerker Gallery events are free and open to the public. The gallery is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; Thursday, 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.; and weekends from noon to 5:00 p.m. The gallery is closed Tuesdays.
