David Pacun, associate professor of music theory, and Peter Silberman, assistant professor of music theory, presented papers at the joint annual meetings of the Society for Music Theory and the American Musicological Society, held in Nashville, Tennessee, November 6–9.

Pacun, along with Janna Saslaw of Loyola University, presented “Teaching Blind: Reflections on and Recommendations for Teaching Visually Impaired Students,” in which he discussed software programs for the visually impaired and the similarities and differences between Braille and visual music notation. Silberman presented “Teaching Classic Era Style Through Keyboard Accompaniment,” in which he demonstrated a method he developed to teach students to write keyboard music in the style of Mozart.
