While March Madness unfolded last spring, students on Ellen Staurowsky's research team compiled data on majors in which Division I athletes in the sports of men's and women's basketball, baseball, and softball were enrolled during the 2007-8 academic year.

That research effort contributed to a series on college athletes and academic eligibility appearing this week in USA Today.

USA Today: "College Athletes' Studies Guided Toward 'Major in Eligibility'"

Congratulations to Daniel Barton, Dan Bozzelli, Andre Harris, Jennifer Homa, Nori Wieder, Meg Olenowski, and Shannon Archer for their work.

Congratulations are also in order for Patrick Bohn, a 2006 graduate of the Park School who received his master's degree in sport management from Ithaca in 2007. Patrick joined USA Today writers Jill Lieber Steeg, Jodi Upton, and Steve Berkowitz in putting this series together.
