This course will prepare you with the skills needed to assist in medical emergencies in remote environments. Those who pass the course will be awarded national certification as a Wilderness First Responder.

(This is the practical on the IC campus January 13-17, 8:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.)
Advanced information of first-aid knowledge and skills specifically designed for outdoor professionals to make critical medical and evacuation decisions in remote locations in accordance with the guidelines of the Wilderness Medical Society. A Wilderness First Responder Certification will be awarded to successful candidates.
No experience is necessary to sign up for this course so, if you are interested, make the plunge! This is a very hands-on course with lots of fun, interactive scenarios. You must enroll in both parts to take the course.
Upon successful completion of the course you will be awarded a certification through the Wilderness Medical Training Center. It looks great on a resume and is essential for attaining jobs in the outdoor industry.
