Mail Services has recently completed an upgrade to the software utilized in tracking packages. With this upgrade a change in the e-mail notification message has been made.
If you receive an e-mail notification stating that a package is being held in Phillips Hall, this refers to the College’s postal contract station located next to Mac’s. (Prior to this software upgrade the e-mail notifications referred to this location as the Union Post Office.)
If the e-mail notification states the package is being held in the Mail Center, then your package can be picked up at the General Services/Public Safety Building.
Since the beginning of the fall semester, we have received over 19,000 packages for students with tracking numbers. With this in mind and in an effort to conserve paper, Mail Services will no longer print out a listing of undelivered packages that was used by students to assist them in locating packages. We will continue to accommodate questions surrounding package arrival and delivery as best as possible.
Please keep in mind the importance of reading the e-mail notifications thoroughly, picking up packages promptly, and deleting unwanted and out dated e-mails from your mailbox as we have been experiencing an increased number of returned or rejected e-mail notifications due to "over quota" issues.
Should you have any questions please contact Mail Services at 274-3371.
