On the weekend of November 15-16, Ithaca College's Speech and Debate Team competed at a tournament at New York University.
The tournament was widely attended with schools from as far as Florida and Texas participating in the competition. The tournament included Lincoln-Douglas-style debating and a range of individual events.
Two sophomores from IC did especially well at the tournament. Sherry Shen '11 finished in fourth place in novice informative speaking. Heike Domine '11 finished as a semifinalist in debate -- losing to Lafayette College and finishing in first place in novice interpretation of poetry.
The Ithaca College Speech and Debate team travels to Ohio State University and Otterbein College for the final tournaments of the semester this weekend.
