Television coverage of the inauguration will be on display in Emerson Suites between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 20, 2009. The swearing-in ceremony takes place that day on the west front of the U.S. Capitol building, with the president-elect being sworn in by noon. Amendment 20 of the U.S. Constitution states that the term of the president expires at noon on January 20. |
