January and February are the worst two months for the winter blues -- it's cold, the days are short and gray.

If you feel moody and less energetic or less productive; or if you have trouble concentrating, sleep more than usual, and are less enthused about life and socializing, you might be experiencing Seasonal Affective Disorder.

The Health Promotion Resource Room (Hammond Health Center lower level, down the hall from the Counseling Center) has a light box display for trial use, information about light therapy, and the way that nutrition and exercise can help reduce SAD. Feel free to drop in to pick up information and try the light box.
