Want to learn about how drama can be utilized as a treatment intervention or as a means for personal exploration and recreation? If so, please mark your calendars for this exciting workshop taught by Jari Aho, lecturer and coordinator of the therapeutic recreation and international programs at HAMK University of Applied Sciences in Hameenlinna, Finland, scheduled for April 3-5, 2009. Course Title: Drama: A Tool for Healing, Therapy, Learning and Recreation Cap: 25; Prerequisites: None; Credits: 1; Semester Type: Weekend Seminar; Grading: P; Times: Friday, April 3, 2009, 6-9 p.m.; Saturday, April 4, 2009, 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.; Sunday, April 5, 2009, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. Course Description An introduction to various applications of drama and theatrical methods which can be utilized as therapeutic modalities and/or for the process of self-exploration and recreation. These methods include playback theater, sociometry, Morenian Action Methods, and role play. This workshop will focus on experiential learning strategies that are action oriented with personal and group reflection on the learning experience. Lecturer Jari Aho is a lecturer, coordinator of the therapeutic recreation and international programs at HAMK University of Applied Sciences in Hameenlinna, Finland. He is a psychologist and has degrees in playback theatre, Morenian Action Methods and clinical counseling.
