Physics Seminar: Viewing the Heavens from a Naked-Eye ObservatoryContributed by Rebecca Peter on 02/13/09
His award-winning "Uranidrome" (from the Greek urani for "sky" and dromos, a "large specially prepared place") is a beautiful 90-foot-wide structure that looks like a modern Stonehenge. Half park, half scientific instrument, the Uranidrome allows observers to chart the heavens with remarkable accuracy. The result: a spectacular space that doubles as a cool teaching tool. |
