Chris Pelchat Presents with Lauren Barnes '08 at National ConferenceContributed by Chris R Pelchat on 02/20/09 Chris Pelchat and Lauren Barnes '08 presented at the National Conference of Outdoor Leadership, sponsored by the Wilderness Education Association. The title of the presentation was "Leader of the Day Experiences." "Leader of the day" (LOD) experiences are a vital part of learning to be competent leaders. This session discussed strategies for running LOD experiences that increase the leader's confidence and competence while creating a more objective assessment process. Discussion brought out best practices within the industry. Barnes graduated in fall 2008 from the Department of Recreation and Leisure Studies with a degree in outdoor adventure leadership.
