Bombers Win State and Conference Titles in Women's Swimming and DivingContributed by Michael Warwick on 02/24/09 The Bombers won their 10th straight Empire 8 title and captured the Upper New York State Collegiate Swimming Association title (their 22nd state crown) over the weekend. During the meet, Ithaca swimmers set seven championship meet records and 13 school records. A total of 12 swimmers and divers accounted for 40 all-state honors. The Bombers have won eight Empire 8 event championships. Ithaca automatically qualified for the NCAA Division III women's swimming and diving championships in four events. Ithaca's Paula Miller was named UNYSCSA and Empire 8 Coach of the Year and senior Lauren Botterbusch was selected UNYSCSA Swimmer of the Meet. |
