Personal Safety Instructional Videos Available for ViewingContributed by William Ferguson on 03/16/09 The Ithaca College Office of Public Safety, in concert with the Core Emergency Response Team (CERT), is pleased to make available for online viewing "Shots Fired on Campus: When Lightning Strikes" (student version) and "Shots Fired: When Lightning Strikes" (faculty and staff version). These instructional videos are designed to empower members of the campus community with knowledge and strategies for preventing and surviving an active-shooter situation.
The videos may be found at: Office of Public Safety (www.ithaca.edu/sacl/safety/publicsafety/) You must enter your e-mail username and password in order to access the videos. Members of the campus community are also urged to read the "Emergency Response Guide," which contains a series of guidelines to follow in the event of a campus crisis, including violent crimes, weather disasters, and hazardous-materials incidents. A hard copy of the guide can be downloaded and printed out from the website.
If you have questions or would like further information on the videos or the "Emergency Response Guide," please contact the Office of Public Safety at 274-3353 or e-mail associate director Bill Ferguson at wferguson@ithaca.edu.
