As you know, Dean Susan Engelkemeyer has submitted her resignation, effective May 31. I write now to inform you of the plans underway for the hire of the next dean of the School of Business.

Dianne Lynch, dean of the Park School of Communications, will chair the search committee, which will also include the following members:

Allison Walker '10, Marketing/International Business

I look forward to sharing this process with the entire campus community, as the search for a new dean is an exciting process. I am confident that Ithaca College and the School of Business are an attractive opportunity, and that we will attract outstanding candidates.

The search will be assisted by James Ferrare of the Washington, D.C., firm Academic Search. Ferrare worked with IC recently in the search for the dean of Humanities and Sciences, Leslie Lewis. Local and national advertisements about the search are expected to be posted within the next few weeks, and I am hopeful that finalists can be interviewed early in the fall semester. An interim will be appointed to serve until the new dean is hired.
