Psychology graduates Lauren Benante '07 and Stephine Sawyer '08 -- both of whom are members of Professor Barney Beins's Humor Research Team -- each received the Faculty-Student Collaboration Award from the New England Psychological Association.

Lauren Benfante's research was entitled, "Self-Reflection and Sense of Humor: The Big Five Personality Characteristics and Humor." Stephine Sawyer's research was entitled, "Expectations about Humor Affect Ratings: A Generalizable Effect with Social Implications." The projects were part of the Humor Research Team's ongoing research.

Coauthors on Stephine's projects included Caitlin McCarthy '09, Marci Rigge '07, and Brittany Rigoli '08.

This is the second time that the New England Psychological Association recognized student accomplishments on the Humor Research Team.
