"Eric Maguire brings a high level of expertise and leadership to our admissions and financial aid offices at a time of extraordinary challenge, both for Ithaca College and nationally," said president Tom Rochon. "As IC's first vice president for enrollment management, he will enable us to infuse an enrollment perspective into our leadership deliberations on a wide range of topics." The College recently reorganized the Office of Enrollment Management, which was previously headed by a dean who reported to the provost and vice president for academic affairs. Now at the vice presidential level, the position reports directly to the president, serving as the college's undergraduate enrollment planning and strategy leader and sitting on the President's Council. "I look forward to joining a dedicated staff, strong leadership team, and welcoming community to achieve future enrollment goals," said Maguire. Maguire has served for the past year as associate vice president for enrollment management at Franklin and Marshall, where he was responsible for class modeling, enrollment research, and admission operations. He led F&M to new levels of enrollment success, setting institutional records for applications (with particular gains from underrepresented students), selectivity, and quality. He had previously been director of admission (2007-8), director of admission operations (2004-7), associate director of admission (2002-4), and senior assistant director of admission and research analyst (2000-2). Prior to his work at F&M, Maguire was an assistant director in the office of admission at Indiana University, where he obtained a master of science degree in higher education administration. He holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from Muhlenberg College. He is a member of both the Pennsylvania and National Associations of College Admission Counseling, and has presented at the New York Association of College Admission Counseling as well as the American Marketing Association's Higher Education Symposium. |
