Susan Perlstein to Speak on Creativity and Aging Friday MorningContributed by Paula Davis on 04/14/09
Ms. Perlstein's presentation is part of two days of academic and celebratory events around the inauguration of Ithaca College's eighth president, Thomas R. Rochon. Her talk is free and open to the public. Susan Perlstein is the founder and director of education and training for the National Center for Creative Aging in Washington, D.C. She is an educator, social worker, administrator, and artist, and has written extensively on creativity and late-life learning. Her presentation will touch on the benefits of creative expression for the well-being and quality of life of older people, as well as recent health research that supports the need for creative arts programs across the aging continuum. Ms. Perlstein's visit to campus is made possible in part by the Ithaca College Gerontology Institute and the Linden Center for Creativity and Aging, part of the Division of Interdisciplinary and International Studies. |
