Ithaca College

School of Music associate dean William Pelto has accepted a position as dean of the Hayes School of Music at Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina.  Bill begins his new job on July 1, 2009.

After 18 years at Ithaca College as a professor of music theory and as associate dean of the School of Music, William Pelto will move to Boone, North Carolina to lead the Hayes School of Music as dean.  

Bill has been an outstanding faculty member and administrator at Ithaca College and all of his colleagues across campus will miss his intelligence, excellent work, and warm companionship. We can all be happy when good things happen to great people like Bill.

Please come to a reception honoring Bill and his wife, Linda Larson, on Wednesday, May 6, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the McHenry Lobby of the Whalen Center for Music.
