Ron Gilmour, natural sciences librarian, and Jenny Strickland, fine arts librarian, have published an article, "Social Bookmarking for Library Services: Bibliographic Access through Delicious," in the April 2009 issue of College and Research Libraries News, a publication of the Association of College and Research Libraries.

Social bookmarking refers to Internet applications that allow users to collect and label information resources both for their own use and for sharing with other users.

IC librarians use the Delicious bookmarking system and its related tagging feature to create online lists of library resources tailored to specific course assignments and user interests, such as a filmography on the "Presence of Asian Stereotypes in Feature Films."

Librarians are exploring other ways to use Delicious, including new-book lists, resource lists for individual courses, and, potentially, lists designed to answer specific research questions.
