The School of Humanities and Sciences is pleased to announce that five H&S faculty members have been awarded Experiential Learning Curriculum Enhancement Grants. These $1,000 grants are geared toward further integrating experiential learning opportunities for students into the H&S curriculum. This is the second time these grants have been offered.

Grant recipients are:

  • Kathryn Caldwell, assistant professor, psychology
  • Vincent DeTuri, associate professor, chemistry
  • Mary Beth O'Connor, assistant professor, writing
  • Jack Rossen, associate professor, anthropology
  • Anne Stork, assistant professor, biology

Brief descriptions of these projects can be found at:

Curriculum Enhancement Grants: 2009 Recipients

These grants support faculty members in their efforts to develop new courses with experiential learning cores, or to revise existing courses to incorporate experiential learning components, and to align these course offerings with the criteria for effective experiential learning opportunities as outlined in "A Framework for Experiential Learning in H&S."

The funds for these grants are made possible by the generous donations of alumni to the H&S Ithaca Fund. For more information about the work of the Experiential Learning Committee, please contact Stacia Zabusky, assistant dean (szabusky@ithaca.edu, 274-3102).
