Ithaca College

The Faculty Development Committee and the Office of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs are pleased to announce the five recipients of the 2008-9 Faculty Excellence Awards. The recipients are:

• Hongwei Guan, Assistant Professor, Department of Health Promotion and Physical Education
• Bruce Henderson, Professor, Department of Speech Communication
• Cynthia Scheibe, Associate Professor, Department of Psychology
• Ellen Staurowsky, Professor, Department of Sport Management and Media
• Susan Swensen, Associate Professor, Department of Biology

New criteria this year emphasized exceptional performance in all areas of the faculty role, including teaching, scholarship, and service. This year's award recipients are recognized for a wide variety of accomplishments, such as innovative teaching, significant scholarly achievements, exemplary service, and demonstrated support for key College values and initiatives.
