As of May 15, the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has removed its recommendation that U.S. travelers avoid travel to Mexico because of the spread and severity of the H1N1 influenza (swine flu) in that country. The travel health warning that had been in effect since April 27 has now been downgraded to a travel health precaution for Mexico.

Accordingly, the Ithaca College Core Emergency Response Team (CERT) has determined that the previous restriction on College-sponsored travel to Mexico by faculty, staff, or students is no longer in effect. Should the CDC reimpose the travel health warning for Mexico or apply it to any other country, the Ithaca College restrictions will be reimposed as well.
