Ithaca men's lacrosse coach Jeff Long has been elected to the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame. The eight-member class of inductees was chosen from a group of 24 finalists and the newest hall of famers will be inducted November 7 in Hunt Valley, Maryland.

Long recently completed his 22nd season as head coach of the Ithaca men's lacrosse team and earned his 200th career win as Bomber coach this season in a March 10 victory over Whittier. His career record stands at 210-105, a .667 winning percentage. He is a five-time Empire 8 Coach of the Year and was named Division III Coach of the Year in 1992 by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association. In 2008, Long was honored as the Kostrinsky Coach of the Year, awarded to the top coach at Ithaca College across all sports.

Long played college lacrosse at Navy where he was a three-time all-American and still ranks as the leading scorer in program history. His distinguished playing career began at Irondequoit High School where he was a two-time all-American. He represented the United States on world tournament teams in 1978 and 1986, and was inducted into the U.S. Lacrosse Greater Rochester Chapter Hall of Fame in 1992.
