Many departments are currently making arrangements for staffing for fall opening. Some offices will need to bring their student workers back early to support opening operations. Please review our guidelines as you begin to plan. We encourage you to provide meal arrangements for any employees you are bringing back early. If your department wishes to make meal plan arrangements, please contact the Office of Conference and Event Services.
3. Check-in for early arrivals will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, August 16. Students may not move in to their fall campus residences before this time. Early-arrival students may check in at the appropriate area or satellite office from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. each day. The satellite offices are as follows:
4. Requests to arrive early for student employment must be submitted by the student's supervisor. Requests for academic requirements or sponsored participation must be submitted by the department. Requests for athletic practice or participation must be submitted by the Office of Intercollegiate Athletics. Requests for ROTC must be submitted by the student's commanding officer. 5. Student employees living in Rowland and Garden 27 this summer will need to vacate their rooms by noon on Friday, August 14. Those student employees who live in Rowland and Garden 27 and need to work for you between August 12 and the regular check-in dates will be approved to move into their fall housing assignments between 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 12, and noon on Friday, August 14. (Please designate such students with the code "SE.") 6. Early-arrival requests must be submitted to the Office of Residential Life by Friday, July 17, at 5:00 p.m. Late requests may not be considered. Requests for fall 2009 will not be reviewed for approval until late July. Only where a clear requirement exists for a student to be on campus early will approval be extended. 7. Please note that students living in the Circle Apartments may move into their space as early as Saturday, August 8, and so do not need early-arrival requests. 8. RAs are automatically approved to arrive the day prior to the date that training will begin. If an RA needs to arrive earlier, they must contact their RD. For additional information or if you have any questions, please contact the Office of Residential Life in the East Tower at 607-274-3141 or breakhousing@ithaca.edu. |
