Kent Scriber, Ed.D., ATC, PT, professor and supervisor of athletic training in the Department of Exercise and Sport Sciences, was invited to present at the 2009 New York State Athletic Trainers' Association annual symposium.

Scriber presented "Work-Life Balance in Athletic Training: Is It Possible?" at NYSATA's annual symposium, held at Syracuse University.

However, the highlight of this meeting was a presentation by Dr. Andrew Cappuccino, director, Buffalo Spine Surgery, and assistant orthopedist for the Buffalo Bills. He highlighted the cervical spine surgery and hypothermia treatment used for Kevin Everett's miraculous recovery from a C3-C4 bilateral fracture during a Bills game against the Denver Broncos in 2007. His lecture was followed by a very moving presentation by Kevin Everett himself.
