Stephen Tropiano, associate professor in the Department of Television-Radio and director of the James B. Pendleton Center in Los Angeles, recently delivered a paper on the representation of television in 1930s Hollywood cinema at "Television: The Experimental Moment, from Invention to Institution (1935-1955)," a conference held in Paris sponsored by Universite Paris 8 and the Institut National de l'Audiovisuel.

Stephen also participated on a panel entitled "LGBT: Youth in Television, Tweens, Teens, and More!" at the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Sponsored by the Television Academy's Diversity Committee, the evening was hosted by comedian Kathy Griffin and included the creative talent behind such shows as DeGrassi: The Next Generation, Greek, Law and Order: SVU, and the recent Lifetime movie, Prayers for Bobby.
