Kathleen Mulligan, assistant professor of voice and speech in the Department of Theatre Arts, has been awarded a Fubright scholarship to Kerala, India, for spring 2010.

Professor Mulligan's project, entitled "Finding Women's Voices," will focus on the empowerment of women through voice. This project will be an expansion of work she has been doing with Cornell's Advance Center for women in the sciences and engineering, the Johnson School, and the Teaching Center at New Mexico State University. She will be in residence at Rajagiri College of Social Sciences and plans to work closely with the women's center on campus, as well as with adolescent girls in the community.
