Bombers Finish 20th In National Directors' Cup StandingsContributed by Michael Warwick on 06/19/09 ITHACA, N.Y. – Ithaca College finished in 20th place in the final standings for the Learfield Directors' Cup standings. The standings for the Directors’ Cup (formerly known as the Sears Cup) are determined by a school’s finish in NCAA playoff competition in selected sports. Ithaca, who placed 14th in last year's standings, is one of nine schools to have placed in the top 30 in each of the award's first 14 years (along with Amherst, Calvin, Cortland, Emory, Middlebury, College of New Jersey, Williams and Wisconsin-La Crosse). Ithaca finished with 577.00 points. Williams, who has won 13 of the 14 Directors' Cups, finished first. Ithaca received points for post-season appearances in baseball, men’s basketball, women’s crew, women's cross country, football, men’s soccer, women's soccer, women’s swimming & diving, women’s indoor track & field, women’s outdoor track & field, men’s tennis, women’s tennis and wrestling.
