This is a reminder about the Microsoft Home Use Program (HUP) for faculty and staff. This program provides an opportunity for faculty and staff to work at home with the same Microsoft products they use at the office.

HUP is available to faculty and staff at the Ithaca, Rochester, Washington and LA campuses. This program is not available to faculty and staff at the London campus because a different vendor provides the licensing for Microsoft Office.

This program is also not available for Ithaca College students but IC students can purchase Office 2007 for Windows (Mac versions are not available at this time) at a significant discount through Microsoft's Ultimate Steal promotion.

Through HUP, faculty and staff can purchase a single licensed copy of one of the following Office products for a fee of $9.95 for a downloadable version; a DVD backup copy can be purchased optionally for $12.

  • Office 2007 for Windows
  • Office 2008 for Mac

This is a terrific program that many faculty and staff may wish to participate in. However, please be aware that the entire process (ordering, payment, shipping, etc.) is a transaction between the participant and Microsoft. Support for the program and products is handled directly through Microsoft.

Those who wish to take advantage of HUP should thoroughly read the information provided on ITS's Microsoft Home Use page for additional program details and restrictions. This site provides a required program code for ordering and can only be accessed with a valid Ithaca College faculty or staff e-mail username and password.
