Do you have students arriving on campus early who will need to drive a College vehicle?

For students arriving on campus prior to the start of classes, there will be a driver safety class offered on Monday, August 24, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The location has yet to be announced; watch for a future Intercom announcement.

Students who need to drive College-owned and leased/rented vehicles are required to take a free, two-hour driver safety class. This policy is in the interest of student safety and sound risk management.

Students who will be driving Ithaca College vehicles need to:

  • Be 21 years old at the time they drive, but may take the class before they turn 21
  • Register for a class by visiting the Office of Risk Management, 319 Peggy Ryan Williams Center, e-mail riskmanagement@ithaca.edu, or call us at 607-274-3285
  • Complete the required Driver Information Form. Approval is a 14-business-day process and must be done each year.
  • Review the Ithaca College student driver handbook. Please be sure to know the College policies and regulations contained within the handbook prior to driving College vehicles and transporting passengers.
