ITS would like to remind faculty and staff Mac users to upgrade to Microsoft Office 2008 at their earliest convenience as Office 2004 for Macintosh will no longer be supported by Information Technology Services after 9/30/09.

Office 2008 has been available as a free upgrade to Office 2004 on college-owned Mac computers since early this year. If you continue to use Office 2004 it will still work, but ITS will no longer provide workshops, quick guides, helpdesk support, etc.  Also, Microsoft has recently announced that the company will discontinue support and software updates for Office 2004 in October of this year.

Office 2008 is substantially different from the older version. Here are some resources to help new users understand what to expect with the new version:

ITS labs were upgraded to Office 2008 over the summer, and technology renewal Mac computers will automatically come with Office 2008 beginning with Fall 2009 renewals.
