Assistant professor Paul R. Geisler and clinical assistant professor Todd Lazenby recently published an article in the Athletic Training Education Journal (summer 2009, volume 4, no. 2), entitled "Clinical Reasoning in Athletic Training Education: Modeling Expert Thinking." The AETJ is a peer-reviewed, online journal for athletic training educators.

The article is the first scholarly work to incorporate the thinking strategy in medical practice known as "clinical reasoning" into the pedagogical and clinical domains of athletic training.
