The City of Ithaca will be closing some streets and rerouting traffic on the lower part of South Hill this week. Off-campus students and anyone else who parks their car on South Hill should read the important information below in order to avoid having their car ticketed and towed.

Date: August 21, 2009
Re: Hudson Street - Paving Operations

Paving operations will take place on Monday, August 24 through Wednesday, August 26,
2009 on Hudson Street from Columbia Street to South Aurora Street.

Your cooperation is critical in completing this necessary repair quickly. Contractor operations will start at 7:30 a.m. Vehicles parked on Hudson Street from Columbia Street to Aurora Street after 6:00 a.m. will be ticketed and towed at the vehicle owner's expense! Construction operations schedule is subject to change due to weather conditions.

NO THROUGH TRAFFIC: Through traffic will be prohibited on Hudson Street between South Aurora Street and Columbia Street. South bound traffic will be detoured via South Aurora Street/Route 96B and Columbia Street. North bound traffic will be detoured via Hillview Place and South Aurora Street/Route 96B.

LOCAL TRAFFIC: The contractor will maintain limited access for residents and services
inside the construction area; however delays should be expected while the paving process
is underway.

PROSPECT STREET and PLEASANT STREET: Prospect Street and Pleasant Street will be closed at Hudson Street. Temporary two-way traffic will be allowed on both the 200 block of Prospect Street and the 300 block of Pleasant Street for resident access from Aurora Street/96B. Parking rules will be in effect.

GILES STREET: Giles Street will be closed from Columbia Street to Hudson Street.
Temporary two-way traffic will be allowed on Giles Street for residents and services only.
Drivers should exercise caution and be prepared for delays. Parking rules will be in effect.

Questions and concerns can be addressed 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, by
calling project engineer Eduardo Torres at 607-274-6422 (office) or 607-274-
