Naeem Inayatullah presented at a joint meeting of the Brazilian International Relations Association (ABRI) and International Studies Association (ISA) at the Pontifical Catholic University in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and gave two talks at the University of Concepcion in Chile.

At the ABRI/ISA joint meeting in Rio de Janeiro, Professor Inayatullah presented "Fundamentals of Liberalism: Invisible, Invasive, Artful, and Bloody Hands" and was a discussant for a panel titled "Governance and Development."

On the same trip, Naeem gave two talks at the University of Concepcion in Chile: "Negotiating in an Unequal Context: The Melian Dialogue Seen from the 21st Century" and "Theorizing International Relations as Cultural Encounter." Both talks were presented with the help of his former student, Jeanne Simon, who translated them from English to Spanish for the audience.
