Executive Committee Formed for 2011 National Conference on Undergraduate ResearchContributed by Marisa Kelly on 09/11/09 I am pleased to announce the formation of the Executive Committee for the National Conference on Undergraduate Research, which will be held at Ithaca College March 30 through April 2, 2011. The conference, which will last two and a half days, is expected to bring approximately 2,500 students and faculty to campus for an event showcasing the scholarship and creative work of students from campuses across the country (and students from IC!). Ithaca College students have participated in the national conference for the past two years in other locations and have found it an exciting opportunity. Planning for the conference is a substantial undertaking, and the Executive Committee will serve as the organizational focal point. Working with each Executive Committee member will be subcommittees working on logistics (transportation, lodging), programming (keynote speakers, special events), and student proposals (review of abstracts and monitoring of sessions). This conference will be an exceptionally exciting event, and will provide a phenomenal level of campus activity around student research and scholarship. The energy and cooperation of many individuals will be needed to host it in an exceptional manner. Stay tuned for periodic updates! |
