Harold Nelson, the Nierenberg Distinguished Professor of Design at Carnegie Mellon University, will give a lecture titled, "Reclaiming the Abandoned Center: Systems Thinking and Design Action," on Thursday, October 1, at 7:30 p.m. in the Park School for Business and Sustainable Enterprise, room 111.

About the Lecture

Whether one talks about organizations or curricula, the drive to specialize has left gaping holes in the center. Yet it is through skillful integration at the center that complex problems can be resolved and knowledge from disciplines can be meaningfully connected. Professor Nelson will explore the concept of the center and how its power can be reclaimed through systems design.

The lecture is sponsored by the Department of Strategic Communication, the Graduate Program in Communications, and the Roy H. Park School of Communications.
