“Strategies for Building a Successful Career” will be the topic of a workshop sponsored by Opera America at the Ithaca College School of Music on Saturday, October 3. Experts in the field from ADA Artist Management, the Eastman School of Music, Glimmerglass Opera, Tri-Cities Opera, and Lake George Opera at Saratoga will participate. Sessions on planning a career, making the most of school and training programs, getting hired and working as a professional singer, and performing an effective audition will be included.

According to host and Ithaca College’s opera director Brian DeMaris, "Ithaca College is honored to be hosting a panel of such distinguished guests from the professional opera field throughout New York state. By hosting this workshop we have the opportunity to build crucial relationships between our students and the field.  Ithaca College and students will benefit from the invaluable professional insight the guest panelists offer, and the many guests and participants visiting campus on October 3rd will get a glimpse of the most notable aspects of our college and the training we offer our students.”
