Jason Hamilton, faculty manager of the Ithaca College Natural Lands Committee, will be leading a Nature Walk through parts of the South Hill Natural Area this Friday from 11:00 - 12:30. Meet at the Textor Flag Pole to participate!

Come join us to hear about the various edible and medicinal native plants, trees, endangered species, and rare plant communities, all on our very own South Hill.

Bring your questions (and maybe a water bottle) and learn about the the greater ecological community that we are lucky to be part of.

We hope to see you there!

The South Hill Natural Area is a 365 acre preserve located behind the college and is part of a Tompkins County Unique Natural Area.  The Tompkins County Environmental Management Council describes Unique Natural Areas as "sites with outstanding environmental qualities...that are deserving of special attention for preservation and protection."  It is used by many  Ithaca College community members for recreational and educational purposes.

The Ithaca College Natural Lands Committee serves as an advisory body to the Vice President for Finance and Administration for the the stewardship of Ithaca College's natural areas - including the South Hill Natural Area. Our primary mission is to maintain the educational value and ecosystem services of these lands, to support co-curricular activities, and to guide compatible economic and recreational development.

Ever wonder what makes South Hill unique? Come join the ICNL for a Nature Walk this Friday! | 0 Comments |
