Student Activities Board Brings The Onion to CampusContributed by Danielle Giserman on 10/19/09 The Onion, "America's Finest News Source," is sending Seth Reiss to Ithaca College on Wednesday, October 21, in Emerson Suites, where he will speak at 7:00 p.m. The Onion, which is available in both print and online editions, is well known for its comedic and sarcastic outlook on politics and current events. The Onion has no political affiliation; instead, its self-proclaimed purpose is to mock mercilessly the left and the right, the powerful and the weak, the deserving and the utterly innocent. Reiss, part of The Onion's creative staff, will be representing The Onion in its first visit to Ithaca College. Reiss will speak about creativity in the journalism world as well as the ever-changing realm of technology and media through the eyes of an Onion staff member. The event is being put on by Student Activities Board and is cosponsored by the Park Center for Independent Media. Questions? E-mail Matt Rakow (mrakow1@ithaca.edu).
