The annual New York State Office of Fire Prevention and Control (OFPC) fire safety inspection of all Ithaca College facilities is scheduled to begin October 28, 2009. OFPC Inspector Ryan Quigley has been assigned to the inspection again this year. A representative from Environmental Health & Safety will accompany Mr. Quigley during the inspection. Historically, the typical violations identified during the inspection include, but are not limited to: - Illegal extension cords - damaged electrical cord - Illegal appliances - doors propped open - excessive combustibles in offices - storage in or blocked ingress and egress pathways Your cooperation and assistance during the inspection process and through-out the year is essential to ensure compliance with NYS OFPC rules and regulations. The inspection is scheduled to be completed by mid January 2010. Should you require any further information or assistance, please contact EH&S at 274-3353.
