Anthropology's Joel Savishinsky, the Charles A. Dana Professor Emeritus in the Social Sciences, Serves as Scholar-in-ResidenceContributed by David Turkon on 10/26/09 The Anthropology Department's Joel Savishinsky, the Charles A. Dana Professor Emeritus in the Social Sciences, was recently a scholar-in-residence at Indiana University where he deliverd the annual Susan B. Eklund Lecture in aging studies and led several workshops and classes. During his residence Joel was honored to deliver the annual Susan B. Eklund Lecture in aging studies. His topic was "Zen and The Art of Retirement." While at Indiana, he also conducted a number of workshops and classes for retired faculty, students, and human service providers in the aging field.
